We love a gallery opening but there's something to be said about seeing art on a casual Saturday afternoon. No crowds, no small talk. Just you and the art.
We recently stopped by The Hole in Los Angeles, a contemporary art gallery on La Brea, featuring the Autobahn exhibit by Thomas Trum. Trum, a Dutch artist we follow on Instagram, creates colorful, flowing murals with mechanical paint sprayers and other repurposed tools he fashions himself. While the paint sprays along a trajectory, he presses the yard stick-like sprayer down incrementally against the wall, creating lines that provide depth and texture so the artwork is reminiscent of sheer fabric draped on the wall. Beautiful.
